A PRACTICE OF EMBODIMENT + REST

TO HELP US HEAL, PROCESS, AND RELEASE

TOGETHER, WE RETURN TO OURSELVES

AND RESTORE OUR INNER RESOURCES

After taking a late winter break from our regular schedule of Yin Yoga at ENSO Center while we partnered with Minnesota Zen Meditation Center, we are eager to return home with a new spring offering.

Each class will start with Yin, utilizing supported long-held shapes to target the deeper connective tissues of the body. We will explore finding softness and release in deep sensation through the use of props, breath-work, and sensory exploration. We will end with Restorative poses for ultimate comfort, rest and nourishment. Our Yin to Restorative class offers a deep reset of the nervous system with meditative cues for embodiment and self-agency.

Since we last met on our mats at ENSO in December, our Minneapolis community has endured extensive trauma and violence. This collective experience has shaken us to our core, and we know our community is feeling this deeply. While a yoga class is not going to magically cure our wounds, we can come together to offer our bodies and minds respite, deep witnessing, and space to possibly feel and release some of what we have endured. This is how true healing and recovery occurs: with steady practice and presence. Through co-regulation and communal support. By coming home to ourselves and rediscovering our breath and sense of "hereness".

Trauma and hypervigilance often isolates us, even from ourselves, and can trap us in states of freeze, dissociation, or even exhausting cycles of activated fight. Our nervous system's offer us beautiful protection in this way. But if we don't find safe ways to reconnect and integrate what we have experienced, these automatic protective impulses can become chronic and eventually lead to harm, burnout and dysfunction.

We can choose to resource ourselves. To come home, and be in community. To offer compassionate witness and presence to ourselves and each other. We hope to see you on the mat.

All classes are for beginners and advanced practitioners alike, no experience is necessary. We provide supportive props and inclusive cueing to ensure accessibility for bodies of all shapes and abilities. Come as you are. Leave supported and nourished.

My actions are my only true belongings.

They are the ground upon which I stand.

If you are looking for more 1:1 support, Melody also offers Integrative Occupational Therapy appointments, in which we dive into mind-body integration and embodiment by working with somatic and sensory tools to address physical and mental health symptoms at the nervous system level. She also offers sleep therapy, and body work + rehab for physical and neurological injuries. Find more information here.

At Enso Center, we also offer depth psychotherapy and have a Functional Medicine Physician, Comfort Onyiah, offering her services in our space.
