YOGA

In the west, yoga is often touted as a means of physical fitness and flexibility, overly emphasizing yoga asana (the physical postures) at the expense of the 7 other limbs of yoga outlined in the Yoga Sutras. At ENSO, we center the spiritual tradition in our practice of yoga and the integration of mind, body, spirit that this ancient practice instructs us in. To this end, we focus our yoga classes on the slower, more meditative practices of Yin, Restorative, and Nidra which particularly foster deeper self-awareness, self-study and inquiry. Yoga practiced in this way can result in profound mind-body connection and integration. While there is deep value in other more active forms of yoga, there is no shortage of these types of high quality studios and classes in the Twin Cities. We offer small, highly curated classes to slow down, turn inward and nurture mind, body, and spirit.

Our classes are taught from a trauma-informed, equitable, and inviting lens. As we practice and rest together with our diverse bodies, experiences, and expressions, we can find radical healing and acceptance of our whole selves. We at ENSO Center are explicitly gender affirming and pro-LGBTQIA+. We welcome all spiritual, ethnic, and cultural expressions of self into our practice community.
